First thing first I have to alert to the absolute best filmmaking videos on staging and blocking you’ll find anywhere, Hollywood Camera Work. The money you spend on these videos will be the some of the best money you will ever spend on filmmaking training. The creators of these videos are absolutely amazing for the way they made these. And they are extremely comprehensive.
I recommend starting with their Master Course in High-End Staging and Blocking. Even microbudget filmmakers should understand the techniques presented here. Unless you’re going for the mumblecore look, I suppose 🙂
They are soon coming out with a course on directing actors which I personally can’t wait for. I will update this page as soon as it’s available.
